I am confident to say that throughout my 20 years in Life Insurance business, I have a success rate in claims experience of 95%. The other 5% are mostly from non-hospitalization claim but wishes me to help them tried to claim and mostly are minor sum incurred by clients. Mostly those who took up medical plan, in one way or another wishes to make a claim otherwise they felt not worth it. I always tell them that it is a blessing that they have good health and are able to continue to pay for the premiums. Unlucky are those who have been diagnosed with critical illness and are unable to pay for their future premiums.
Sometimes I just wonder, is it lucky that when you are diagnosed with critical illness and so happen you have an insurance that covers it or unlucky because it's a taboo that you have insurance therefore you have critical illness????????
When clients asked for my advice whether they should take up this or that insurance protection or whether is it worth it to take up this or that type of insurance plan???????? My reply is always " I am not God, I won't know what's going to happen to you or me". Insurance is taken up while the person is in good health, wealth and are responsible to their family.Recovery
My first death claim was made for a client who took up a policy from me just after 7 months (was it lucky or unlucky??????). After persuading him for 3 years, he finally took up a life plan after considering my persistent approach and confidence in helping him. He said that he has nothing to offer his family when he pass on therefore he decided to take an insurance plan to cover for that. After taking up the plan, 5 months later, he went to the General Hospital to do a check up on his complaints of frequent headaches. The doctor did an x-ray and found a tumor in his brain and immediately refer him to the K.L General Hospital. Due to limited source of funds and choices, he decided to do the operation there. I went with him together with his son to approached the Doctor. The Doctor saw the x-ray and explain to us that it would be an easy operation because the tumor was behind his brain and that there would be no problem. After listening to his explaination, my client and his son decided to do the operation immediately as the tumor is affecting his daily life activity. The tumor has caused his vision and mobility to slowly diminishing. He checked into the hospital the following day as a waiting list patient and was under medication.
So I thought that everything would be fine, so I went on a holiday with my family. When I came back, I called the son to checked up on him and found that he had passed away.
